A Tribute To Pride FC
Pride FC was a great MMA organization and just recently had their anniversary of their last show. There were some classic fights in the organization with a plethora of memories to come along with it. It was good for the sport to have the UFC encounter some major competition, having someone going neck and neck with you is a big factor in upping your game. Just as no great fighter will sharpen his game by fighting cans, the same goes for any organization-you won't rise to the level necessary if there isn't someone you're going head to head with. Aside from great fights, Pride offered another good outlet for fighters to compete in. With a good payscale for fighters, they were able to give fighters a great chance to fight and make a decent living. However, by the same token, the success of the UFC has opened doors for other leagues to achieve some success such as Affliction and Strikeforce. It's a double-edged sword but for certain Pride is sorely missed in the MMA community. |
