Anderson Silva Set TO Face Forrest Griffin at UFC 101

World  of Combat can reveal that  the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)  middleweight champion Anderson Silva will move up to the 205 pounds weight division to face the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Forrest Griffin. The fight will held in August at the UFC 101 event.

Here at World of Combat, we have been informed about the aformentioned by our inside reporters who have got this information from a close source to Anderson Silva. The source also confirmed that Silva wants to leave the UFC and pursue a match with the legendary boxer Roy Jones Jnr. This is very interesting news as it would explain why Silva has been putting on below par performances. Silva does not want to fight for the UFC.

It is common knowledge now that the UFC were very disappointed with Anderson Silva's latest performance against Thales Leites. This along with his previous fight resulted in two lack lustre displays inside the octagon. It could be said that they (the UFC) will attempt "teach him a lesson" by matching him up with a man who always comes to fight, Forrest Griffin.

The UFC is hoping that by making Anderson Silva move up to the up to light heavyweight division they can select fighters that are going to be more of a challenge. That's exactly what Forrest Griffin is. Griffin is known to always be aggressive and get fighters to fight. A win by Silva will see him become the most dominant fighter in the history of UFC. A win by Griffin, will almost certainly catapult him back up for title contention.

There was a recent rumour that Griffin's original opponent Thiago Silva, had suffered an injury. Here at World of Combat we have found that Thiago is not injured but rather the UFC simply decided to switch Griffin's opponent.

Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin will be held at UFC 101 in Philadelphia on August 8th. The other fights on the card include a Lightweight title fight between B.J. Penn versus Kenny Florian.
