Andrei Arlovski

Andrei Arlovski is highly regarded Belarusian Mixed Marital Arts fighter. Often referred to as the"The Pit-bull" for his aggressive style, is the former UFC champion. He started his MMA training when he was 18 years old to deal with bullies. When Andrei Arlovski got enrolled in police academy, his training in police defense course of Sambo along with his interest in MMA made him highly competent in the field of combat. In 1999, Andrei Arlovski won European Youth Sambo Championship. He took a silver medal at Sambo world cup and another silver medal at World Sambo Championship. He also studied kickboxing and developed his striking skills

Andrei Arlovski is the former heavy weight champion of the world. In 1999, he started his MMA career with the Mix Fight M1 in St Petersburg, Russia. Andrei Arlovski lost against Viacheslav Datsik by KO. In 2000, he won at M1 at the European Championship with submission victory and knock out victory. Andrei Arlovski made his UFC debut at UFC 28. He defeated Aaron Brink in this. He also won against Ian Freeman and Vladimir Matyushenko. He has great grappling ability and striking techniques. After his failure against Datsik, Andrei Arlovski realized that a lot of hard work and dedication is required. He completely focused on his fights. Andrei Arlovski gives his credit for his improvement to Chicago's Costeas of Pow Mixed Marital Arts training facility.

Andrei Arlovski has a vigorous training regime. He trains 3 times a day and practices all mma disciplines such as wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu He also runs and lifts weights every morning. His strengths lay in his boxing ability and his devastating leg lock submissions. Some regard his has one of the most exiting fighters in the heavyweight division

Andrei Arlovski has recently taken up with a movie career with Imperia Entertainment INC. He currently stays at Chicago with his girlfriend Patricia Mikula. His coach is mike Garcia. Till now he has won fights in UFC 28, UFC 40,UFC 44, UFC 47, UFC 51, UFC 53,UFC 55,UFC 66. He has also won M1 MFC European Championship 2000 against Michael Teilrooy and Roman Zentsov on 4/9/2000. Most of his wins in MMA are usually through KO's and a few through submissions.

In addition to the latter, he has notable wins over fighters such as Fabricio Verdum and Tim Sylvia. Some have argued that he will recapture the heavy weight title again which he won by beating ufc fighter Tim Sylvia.
