BJ Penn Blasts Sean Sherk On Radio

In an angry exchange of words BJ Penn "blasted" Sean Sherk on a live radio chat. This exchange was between these two highly regarded light weight fighters. The two are to fight in UFC 84 on the 24^th of May 18, 2008 with BJ Penn putting his light weight title on the line.

This animosity between this two fighters is for real and dates back over a year. In mid 2007, Sean Sherk tested positive for steroids and was found guilty by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). This led to Sherk being stripped of his title, and the title being put up for grabs for the leading two contenders in the Light Weight. BJ Penn won the title from Joe Stevenson and became the UFC Light Weight Champion. Sean Sherk on the other hand, was claiming he was innocent of any steroid use and that BJ Penn was not the champion, because "to be the champion you have to beat the champion". Undermining BJ Penn's standing as the world champion led BJ Penn to start a war of words with the former champion Sherk.

All this controversy outside the octagon, has led to a huge interest in this fight which promises to be a classic. After a long time, we have a real rivalry between two fighters. Penn: "But like I said before, 'What's Sherk going to do when he's on his back?' That's where he' going to have trouble.

But BJ "The Prodigy" Penn left his opponent in no doubt as to what awaits him at UFC 84.

He said: "Sean Sherk, fuck you and your steroids. I'm going to kick your ass."
