Left Hook in Boxing

If one is to look through out boxing history, the single most important punch that determines if a boxer is a "big hitter" or not is the type of Hook he throws. The Hook is a punch in boxing which is considered the most powerful punch. It involves the rotation of the core muscles and back, swinging the arm, which is turned at an angle near or at ninety degree angle, into the adversary. The Hook is mainly targeted at the chin and the liver or rib area.

In order to execute this punch effectively, one has to drop his body weight to one side, allowing them to swing to his opposite hand horizontally and hit the adversary. Now and again, depending on factors such as style and what feels alright to the boxer, the foot is rotated. This allows more leverage into the shot. The limitations of this punch are that when it's thrown with power, the follow up can be difficult.
