Mir and Nogueira to Feature on Season 8 of TUF

It has been officially confirmed that the coaches for season eight of the Ultimate Fighter will be Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The show is to premier on Spike TV on Wednesday, September 17 at 10:00pm ET/PT. This is going too be preceded by a face of between these two highly regarded heavy weights, for a future Pay per View event.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira started his professional career in Mixed Martial Arts in the United States in June of 1999 with a lesser known organization called World Extreme Fighting. However, his huge popularity and credibility as a fighter was established in the Pride FC, where he held the heavy weight title with numerous successful defenses. He is currently the UFC Heavy Weight interim champion.

Frank Mir on the other hand, has had a somewhat a varied success rate in the feild of MMA. After winning the UFC Heavy Weight Title Frank Mir has endured a serious accident which resulted in him losing the title.

In a space of a few years, Frank Mir went from the high point of being the UFC heavyweight champion to the lows of nearly dying in a grisly motorcycle accident. The severe injuries he suffered in the horrific accident led to him being stripped of his title as he rehabbed his broken leg. However his recent wins over fighters such as Brock Lessner has put him back into title contention.

This match up is very interesting as both fighters are known for their submission and specialties. It is going to be interesting to see, which fighter can be regarded as the best Heavy Weight submission artist in the world.

 The Ultimate Fighter" season eight is going into production in May. The entire cast will be announced in early September.
