Frank Trigg
Born on 7th of May, 1972, as Dewey Franklin Trigg III, He is more commonly known as Frank Trigg and is nicknamed "Twinkle Toes". Very early in life Frank developed a natural competitive spirit and nature. He attended school in New York at Kendall High School. In 1977, Frank graduated with a major in Public Affairs and Administration. During the years between 1997 to 2000, Frank Trigg stayed on with the University of Oklahoma as a coach. He qualified as a finalist in the 2000 Olympics wrestling trials. Frank Trigg is an American mixed martial arts fighter, a commentator for PRIDE Fighting Championships, a co-host for the radio show of MMAWeekly.com's , and a co-host of the new TAGG radio show. He is extremely well known and respected by his fans due to his extensive knowledge of mixed martial arts. As a fighter Frank Trigg is a veteran of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Rumble on the Rock, Icon Sport, World Fighting Alliance and PRIDE Fighting Championships. As mentioned earlier, Frank Trigg was also a 2000 Olympic trials wrestling finalist. Frank is also a black belt in judo, at the second degree. In 1997, Frank Trigg began his mixed martial art's career. He fought a series of fights and got his first ever big break at PRIDE 8. He fought in PRIDE against Fabiano Iha, whom he defeated through the TKO. From 2001-2002, Frank fought at the World Fighting Alliance (WFA). While he was here, the WFA "Welterweight" Title belonged to him. Thereafter, Trigg decided to focus on his broadcasting job which he held at PRIDE and was out of the fighting circuit for a while. In December, 2006 he returned and fought against Jason "Mayhem" Miller. With a series of punches, kicks and the like, in addition to defending himself by the rear naked choke, Trigg won against Miller in the second round. Trigg lost in the fourth round against Robbie Lawler, in 2007, while defending his Icon Sport Middleweight Title. at the Gracie Fighting Championships in Miami, he was supposed to fight against Ivan Jorge "Batman", but this event never took place. Earlier this year, Trigg fought and defeated Middleweight Grand Prix champion Kazuo Misaki. In this fight he maintained majority of the control on the ground compared ot Misaki. On a personal front, Frank Trigg is married and has two children. Moreover he is the co-partner of the R1 Training Center gym with a gentleman called Rico Chiapparelli. Aside from his work at PRIDE, he also is the owner of "Triggonomics", which is an urban athletic clothes line. Extremely resourceful, Frank Trigg also runs a marketing compnay. He is well-known for his resemblance to pro-wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle. |
