Heath Herring

Heath Herring is popularly known as "The Texas Crazy Horse" among his fans. He was born on March 2, 1978 in Waco, Texas. He is an American Heavyweight professional Mixed Martial Artist. His team is in association with Las Vegas Combat Club. His fighting style is Sambo and kickboxing. Heath Herring gained popularity among the Japanese crowd for PRIDE FC in Japan and at present fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Before joining the fighting world he worked as a computer engineer. Heath Herring is known for his earlier battles with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Heath Herring over the years has won many titles. His favorite fighting tactic is to use the knees. He is an agile fighter and never underestimates his contender. Each day he trains harder in standup drills, takedowns, sparring, defense and some ground techniques.

Heath Herring started his career when he was 18 years old by taking part in School Fights in Amarillo, Texas. Heath Herring is a long time veteran in PRIDE He lost his debutant Heavyweight title fight to Rodrigo Nogueira by unanimous decision. Although he lost to Rodrigo he was considered the number one contender. Heath Herrings most notable wins were against Igor Vovchanchyn and Mark Kerr. He quit PRIDE fighting championship because of his management and payment disputes. In his UFC debut he lost to Jake O'Brien at the UFC Fight Night 8 by a unanimous decision. On April 7, 2007 Heath Herring fought a match against the Ultimate Fighter 2 heavyweight finalist Brad Imes and won it by unanimous decision. Heath Herring again fought a match with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and lost to him at the UFC 73 by unanimous decision. At UFC 82 Heath Herring gave an outstanding  performance winning the match against Cheick Kongo. After the fight got over he wanted Kongo to stand up for him as Heath Herring wanted to give a stand up performance to his audience but he refused.

Heath Herring's professional MMA record holds 29 wins and 13 losses from the 44 matches that he has fought. He has won mostly by submission and lost by decision.

Heath Herring, apart from the fighting world is known for his unique hairstyles and colors. He enters the ring wearing a cowboy hat and duster coat to the ring. Heath Herring is very famous among the Japanese crowd because of his appearance. He wore contact lenses during his PRIDE Shockwave '03 fight against Giant Silva. He has a unique personality and his fans look up to him. He has a very flamboyant personality.

Heath Herring has been a very dedicated fighter. With every fight he tries to be a consummate professional, each day he trains harder and puts in his best and  gives an entertaining fight to his fans. He says  "I don't like to be involved in fights that aren't entertaining, and if I smell blood I'm going to jump on him if I can".
