Karo Parisyan
Karo, essentially a disciple of judo has been practicing the art for more than a decade at the Hayastan academy. His achievements outside the mixed martial arts sports have also been creditable; this includes winning the national championships (jr.) for half a dozen times. This mixed martial art pro has a great record in the welterweight division, he fights in. He has just suffered 4 losses in comparison to his 17 victories; however the most heart throbbing fact is that more than half of his victories have come in the form of opponent submissions. Karo is credited for the being one of the first and finest to bring judo like fighting technique in the UFC arena. He made a stunning first appearance on the UFC fight scene in 2003 when he went on to beat Dave Strasser with a Kimura lock making Dave submit the fight. He has had an impressive start to his UFC career as well with more than half a dozen wins to his credit against just two losses. The aspect about his fighting skills which has been so prominent is his aggression and this has got him the nickname "The Heat". Karo is already highly rated by the followers of the sport and without a doubt features in the top five fighters in the welterweight category. Karo is also famous for his adaptations from his learning, his training with Gokor Chivchyan has surely impacted his style and his use of the sambo leg lock, which a trademark move often used by Gokor. Talking about the losses that Karo has suffered not surprisingly have come against two higher ranked and experienced players like Georges St Pierre and Deigo Sanchez. But is it for sure that this young fighter will have many more chances to beat his opponents and get his share of the revenge. As he has stated that he has learnt a plenty not only by his practice of the art but also by following other fighters on television and competing against friends who are experts in other fighting forms, a lot of development will occur over a period of time. At just 25 years of age he has been tipped by many as the future of the sport and the Armenian surely has the potential to fulfill and justify all expectations from him. |
