Kazuo Misaki
Kazuo Misaki was born on the 26th of April, 1976 and is nicknamed, "Grabaka Hitman" . He was born in Chiba, Japan and currently fights out of the same place as well. A former Judoka, Misaki is a mixed martial art's professional fighter. Misaki is a fairly tall man, standing around 178 cm tall and with a weight of around 183 lb. Kazuo Misaki is associated with "Team Grabaka". In mixed martial art's, Misaki has a record of 18 wins, around 8 losses and 2 draws. Well known, as a strong and tough fighter, he is famous for taking a punch well and returning it equally well. He is credited with having a very good punch and often uses the low kick. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu defense is his weakness. Kazuo Misaki (Grabaka Hitman) has defeated many champions such as Dan Henderson, Phil Baroni, Denis Kang etc. However he has many losses at the hands of Nate Marquardt, Paulo Filho. Kazuo Misaki has won at the following events - PRIDE - Bushido 3 ,PRIDE - Bushido 11, PRIDE - Bushido 12, Pancrase - Brave 1 , Pancrase - Spiral 2, Pancrase - Spirit 2, Pancrase - Spirit 8, Pancrase - Proof 6 and 7, Pancrase - 2002 Anniversary Show , DEEP - 23rd Impact, Pancrase - 2001 Neo-Blood Tournament and Pancrase - Neo Blood Tournament Elimination Rounds in the same year. Kazuo Misaki also won the Pancrase - 2004 Neo-Blood Tournament, with unanimous decision. The winner of 2006 PRIDE Welterweight Grand Prix, Kazuo Misaki is ranked by the MMA Weekly, as the 9th in the middleweight division. Phil Baroni and Dan Henderson, At Pride's 83-pound Grand Prix, Kazuo Misaki emerged victorious as the winner over Denis Kang. It was one of the finest fights of the year for Misaki. He walked away with the Pride's 183-pound Grand Prix title, via a split decision. Misaki had entered the fight as a fresher. Misaki threw countless knee bars from north-south position, these were blocked as defense. In the year 2005, in a movie named "Tsurugi", directed by Kei Nakata, Kazuo Misaki made an appearance. Many mixed martial art insiders as well as many fans fell that no Japanese in the Welterweight has the ability to win, this is unlike the middleweight and heavyweight divisions. Kazuo Misaki, is not in agreement with this statement. He feels this is a divison where the Japanese fighters could have a real chance and is really not afaraid of anything. When asked about competition with his senior, Akihiro Gono, he feels that seniority does not matter, what matters is making your position strong.
