Mathew S. Hamil or Matt Hamill is popularly known as "The Hammer" among his fans. This deaf American Mixed Martial wrestler was born on 5th October 1976 in Cincinnati, United States. Matt Hamill's team association is with Team Punishment. He has won the NCAA Division III National Champion in wrestling three times and is a two-time world champion for freestyle wrestling. He also attended the Rochester Institute of Technology at New York and gained a degree in Electrical Engineering.  Matt Hamill is one of the top members in the MMA highest profile, Light heavyweight division. He has proved that if someone is deaf, it doesn't mean that the person is totally handicapped.

Matt Hamill was born in Loveland, Ohio. His stepfather, who is a coach at Loveland High School, introduced him to the world of wrestling. He voluntarily spent his time in teaching wrestling to the Middle and High school children. He was born deaf and spends his time working with the deaf children. A movie starring Eben Kostbar, a wrestler is being made with "Matt Hamill" as their subject. However, the movie is being criticized because the lead actor is not deaf.
