Rashad Evans

Rashad Evans is an American mixed martial arts fighter. His full name is Rashad Anton Evans. He was born on 25th September 1979 at Niagara Falls, New York. Rashad Evans is currently working for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Since his graduation, Rashad has been involved in fighting. At Niagara-Wheatfield High School in Sanborn (New York), he became the All-state wrestler twice. Rashad Evans was also known for excellent football play. In the school's football team, he played as an offender as well as defender. Rashad fans also call him Sugar. He has been trained as a fighter in the wrestling style and has proved his mettle by defeating tough opponents such as Sean Salmon, Michael Bisping, Brad Imes, Sam Hoger and many more.

After completing his graduation, Rashad Evans attended Niagara County Community College. There he took part in wrestling competitions and won the National Junior College Championship in the year 2000. After that, at Michigan State University, Rashad Evans defeated the wrestling legend Greg Jones. Evans became the assistant coach for the Michigan State Wrestling Program after earning a degree in psychology. Till now Rashad had enjoyed wrestling in his high schools and had enough experience to proceed towards mixed martial arts (MMA) career. In 2004 Rashad Evans took part in five MMA fights and won all of them. By showing such a great performance Rashad was selected to compete in the second season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). At TUF, Evans defeated Tom Murphy, Mike Whitehead and Keith Jardine. This led him to face 6ft 7in Brad Imes in the finals. On 5th November Rashad Evans defeated Brad and after this awesome victory the UFC signed Rashad Evans. Evans was now dropped down to light heavyweight as he felt that he could do better in this division. Under the UFC contract, Rashad Evans competed in his first fight on 6th April 2006 against Sam Hoger and defeated him via split decision. Going forward on the path of victory, Evans defeated the finalist of The Ultimate Fighter 1, Stephan Bonnar on 28th June 2006. At UFC 78, Rashad defeated the TUF 3 winner Michael Bisping via split decision

Rashad Evans lives with his wife LaToya and two sweet children Tahja (daughter) and Rashad Jr. (son). When Rashad is not practicing for his fights, he likes to spend the time enjoying with his family, friends and sometimes alone. He loves to watch movies, listening to music and reading books. Rashad Evans stays to the ground irrespective of the comments or compliments people give him. He believes that one should stay true to himself.
