This handed Tim his first victory with the UFC which he has built up with a more than impressive performance in years to come. It took him close to 1 year to come back to full action in the UFC. His next match up against Andrei Orlovski in UFC - 51 was voted as the perfect comeback for him. Tim managed to lose that game that analysts say was due to the overconfidence of Tim and under-estimation of his opponent's fighting ability. Since that battle, Tim has managed to establish his supremacy in the UFC matches. He also managed to defeat Andrei twice. The first of the matches against Andrei was critical for Tim as he had to win it to regain the UFC heavyweight title. The UFC 59 as it was called was fought evenly till the end. Tim settled the deal in his favor with knockout strikes on Andrei. Pretty recently, in March 2007, he lost the UFC 68 match to Randy Couture losing his control over the UFC heavyweight title. Analysts say that the recent performance of Tim in the ring has been pretty good with a 4-1 record last season. With all the good factors in his favor, Tim is all set to stake his claim for the UFC heavyweight title this season. |
