UFC 101: Declaration BJ Penn Vs Kenny Florian Review

UFC 101: Declaration has many mma fans excited. This is mainly down to the fact, that the card has some great fights. UFC 101 is taking place this Saturday, August 8, 2009 in Philadelphia. The main event will feature a fight between BJ Penn and Kenny Florian. The co-main event will feature Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffn.

The main event between BJ "The Prodigy" Penn and Kenny "Ken-Flo" Florian is a very intriguing match for a number of reasons. Firstly, this is the first fight for BJ Penn after his devastating loss to Georges St Pierre earlier this year.. He will be looking to come back strong after the embarassing defeat and make a statement. In recent interviews, it has been revealed that Penn has completly changed his training style and has looked more focussed than ever. Secondly, his opponenet Kenny Florian has looked devastating in the Octagon and has won six fights consecutive in the UFC. He will be fighting for the second time for the lightweight UFC belt. The difference this time being  Florian is a far better fighter than the one that faced Sean Sherk in his last title bout i which he lost.

The main event will surley live up to the hype. Most mma analysts have Penn as the slight favourite. However if Florian wins it will not be considered a huge upset.

The co-main even between Anderson"The Spider" Silva vs Forest Griffin will surley have most mma fans excited. Silva by most peoples standards is considered to be the pound for pound best fighter in the world. In this fight, he will be moving up a weight  for the second time to face Forrest Giffin. After two lack lustre performances by Silva, the UFC will attempt to test the pound for pound king against Griffin, who always brings an agressive style.

This fight will more than likely end in a knockout. Most analysts and book-makers have Silva as the heavy favourite. But on thing is for sure, when ever Griffin is the underdog, he usually has his best performances. This is evident in his victories over Quinton Jackson and Mauricio Rua.

Here is the full beakdown of the entire UFC 101 card:
