UFC Silva vs Irvin Results -

In a response to the Affliction MMA event, the UFC quickly put a card together to undermine their competition. Even though this card was no where near as stacked as the Affliction card, there were some intresting match ups between the fighters. None more so than Anderson Silva's move up to the Light Heaveweight division to face the hard hitter James Irvin.

The undercard fo this event was exiting. This was excpecially the case with Jesse Taylor making a comeback to the UFC after he was thrown out for dubious behaviour. His fight with CB Dollaway legitamised that he is a serious contender to be considered in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The fight between Frank Edgar and Hermes Franca also did not dissapoint.

Overall it was a lack luster performance by most of the fighters. Anderson Silva showed his dominance bt defeating James Irvin in the first round by a solid knockout. The fight of the night was between Frank Edgar who defeated Hermes Franca. Brandon Vera move to the Light Heavyweight remains questionable as he lacked explosivness.

Overall it was a very average UFC, which probably failed to live up to the hype.
